Several recent news articles highlighted issues supported by Warden Associates, Inc.
- On Friday, Mr. Alan F. Estevez, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics and Material Readiness U.S. Department of Defense, Mr. Jack Edwards, Director, Defense Capabilities and Management, U.S. Government Accountability Office and Mr. William Solis, Director, Defense Capabilities and Management testified to the Senate Subcommittee on Oversight of Government Management, the Federal Workforce, and the District of Columbia on “Making a Plan: Progress on Improving Department of Defense Supply Chain Management.” The testimony included topics for review by the WARDEN Team under our contract with DLA/DORRA.
- This is a great article on recommended reforms within DOD. A major recommendation is the transfer of commercial activity performance from military to civilian personnel. WARDEN has been a leader in identifying and implementing opportunities to reduce costs in commercial activities performed by government personnel, military and civilian. Another recommendation is the improvement of supply chain management; back to issue 1. above and the current WARDEN Team contract.
- An article on the Improper Payments Elimination and Recovery Act, which requires agencies to perform recovery audits on all their programs and to produce corrective action plans with targets to reduce overpayment errors. It mandates reviews of programs that could be susceptible to "significant improper payments" at least once every three years. WARDEN both performs recovery audits for the government and prepares organizations for the audits.
